I thought life would be easier after I unsealed my magic.
Spoiler: it’s not.

I want to free my family from my traitorous cousin, but with all the allies he’s got guarding his back, even my new powers won’t be enough to beat him. My best bet is to use my parents’ signet ring to prove my claim of leadership.

There’s just one problem…

I can’t find it!

Things aren’t looking so good for my vampire housemates, either. As Killian Drake’s conflicts with the fae get worse, it’s clear that war will break out soon if something doesn’t change.

Plus, Killian has gotten really weird about smelling me and invading my personal space. Every time he comes near my heart almost pops out of my chest, but I’m sure that’s just terror caused by being so close to the most feared vampire in the region.

At least that’s what I keep telling myself.

So, I’m a wizard searching for a ring while trying to survive living with a bunch of vampires and their deadly and suddenly touchy-feely leader. Yeah, life is definitely not easier.

Hall of Blood and Mercy is a finished urban fantasy trilogy featuring all your favorite vampires, wizards, fae, and werewolves. It’s packed with humor, adventure, and a sweet, slow burn romance between a vertically challenged wizard and the most lethal vampire in town.

Book Review:

I have just decided that K.M. Shea is now one of my new favorite authors! She is such a perfect blend of humor and heart. Plus the characters are just amazing. She gives them the funniest banter, and she allows them to have such personality. All with a plot that has plenty of twists and turns and incredible world building.

Magic Redeemed is the second book in the Hall of the Blood & Mercy series. It is about a wizard named Hazel and a vampire named Killian Drake. Hazel is the heir to her family’s wizard house, but she has been forced out and is currently living with Drake family. She used to be a super weak wizard, but she recently received her magic that had been hidden from her. Unfortunately, even with her magic, she can’t get her house back, and Killian is currently acting very touchy feely which is also weirding her out. Of course not because she likes him just because he is a super feared vampire. At least that’s what she’s trying to tell herself.

I loved this book so much! Seriously, I think little heart emojis are popping up when I think of this book. Seeing Hazel and Killian together was adorable, and I really liked seeing the dynamic between Hazel and the Drake family. Plus, the Paragon, oh my gosh! the Paragon. Let’s just say that the name Aphrodite has a whole nother meaning to me right now. He is one of the funniest characters in the book, but it is so clear that he is way smarter than he leads on.

The plot of the story was also gorgeous with so many twists and turns, but also, never too much that I can’t enjoy the main story that is playing out in front of me. The action was great, and I have to say that Hazel is such an amazing female protagonist. I loved how strong she always is, and she’s short which is really not important, but there are not enough short characters. So, as a short person myself, it was very nice to have a short protagonist.

It’s also really refreshing to have a healthy romantic relationship. I think that K.M. Shea always does a great job of making sure it’s clear that the romance makes them stronger not weaker. The girls can love someone, and the guys can protect them, but it’s not because they’re weak it’s because they’re worthy of protection. Also, it’s a super clean slow burn romance. They do use the word ass a couple times in the book, but other than that there is no language.
