Book Review:

I adore Jess Mastorakos’ books and I was super excited to read this one. Christmas books are always enjoyable reads. Snowed in for Christmas is the third book in Jess Mastorakos’ Christmas in Snow Hill series. It was so fun to come back to this series and get to see old characters again.

Tommy and Grace were fun characters to read about. I liked getting to know both characters especially as they got to know each other and fell in love. The romance was sweet. They had to learn to trust each other. Grace had to learn to let people in. Tommy had to figure out how to care for Grace.

I enjoyed the characters and was engaged in the plot. I wanted to see how Tommy and Grace would work out their differences. The side characters were fun, it was cool to see old characters again and meet new ones! I see hints of new books.

Snowed in for Christmas is an adorable Christmas read with a hint of suspense. I would definitely recommend this book. It is the perfect Christmas read. Snowed in for Christmas is a clean contemporary Christmas romance

He’s a Marine turned small-town cop, and she’s the single mom next door. Can the magic of Christmas unite them even with all that stands in their way?

Robin McBride is determined to give her daughter a happy, stress-free life. So even though she’s had a crush on Jack since the day they met, he’s a police officer now, making him off-limits. Her late husband worked for the same department and died in the line of duty. There’s no way she’ll put her daughter—or herself—through that again.

As they grow closer over hot cocoa and holiday traditions, Jack knows he needs a Christmas miracle to convince Robin to risk her heart. And when her past comes back to haunt her, he’ll do anything to show her he’s worth believing in.

Book Review:

This was just as good as I had hoped! Everything that Mastorakos writes seems to be a hit and this one was just lovely! Christmas with the Boy Next Door is the second book in Jess Mastorakos’ Christmas in Snow Hill series. I have been waiting for this book to be released and it was worth the wait!

Jack was just so much fun! I love his relationship with his sister and how kind and considerate he was. I really loved Jack and getting to know more about him. He was such a wonderful character, I was definitely rooting for him as he tried to make a relationship work with Robin. Jack had to learn to get go of his feelings about Christmas and embrace the hope for a future.

Robin was also lovely! I connected with her from the beginning and I wanted to see her end up with Jack. Robin was such a strong character and I loved how she cared for her daughter, Abby. Robin had to learn to let go of the past and her fears, hoping for the best. She had to trust that loving Jack was worth the risk of losing him.

Jack and Robin had such great chemistry and I loved reading about them together. Their interactions were easy and they had a great connection. Their romance was super sweet and fun to read about. I also love the side characters, Holly, Jack’s sister, and Noelle, Jack’s niece, were just wonderful additions. I love the family aspects in this book and the siblings’ relationships. It was cute to read about Jack interacting with Abby. I also loved Tommy and I am so excited to see that he is going to get his own book!

The plot was interesting and I was engaged the whole time. I read this book in one day! I could not recommend it more! It had a wonderful mix of romance and a hint of suspense and mystery. Christmas with the Boy Next Door is a clean contemporary romance and I would recommend it to those who have enjoyed Mastorakos other books and just even clean contemporary Christmas romances.

Book Review:

Forgiven by the Hero is such a cute story about two untrusting people who have to learn how to open up their hearts again. Megan Warren is secretly Marcus Warren, the best-selling author of adventure thrillers. She’s lived life through her books for most of her life, but when a gruff mountain man interrupts her vacation, she can’t help but be intrigued. Derek Held trusts dogs more than people, and his life revolves on training the best search and rescue dogs in the country. Even though Megan is a virtual stranger, his life seems a little brighter with the addition of this interesting woman. But, Megan’s evasive answers start to send some red flags for Derek. And when they’re stuck in a snowstorm with Megan’s secrets and Derek’s suspicions, it might not be possible for these two lovers to fully trust each other.

Forgiven by the Hero is part of a multi-author series called Heroes of Freedom Ridge. It is the last book in this standalone series, and it is by Tara Grace Erickson. I have never read any books by her, but I loved her sweet, inspirational writing. It was also really fun to have a main character that was a writer. Megan’s writing was such a big part of her, but at the same time, she needed to learn how to have adventures instead of just writing about it. I liked how Derek balanced her hesitancy because he was definitely an impulsive person.

I thought that Derek was such an interesting character. It was a bit funny because even though he was a bit of a loner he also had a huge support group through his friends. There are a lot of cameos from different books, but I have not read the books in this series and I was never confused. Derek also had a lot of trust issues, but it was sweet to watch God work on him through the book.

He had to work on Megan as well because she was not willing to take the next step and trust Derek with her secret. I think that I would have loved if Ms. Erickson would have delved a bit deeper into their reasons why they didn’t want to trust each other. It was mentioned, but there was not a whole lot of backstory. But, I still really enjoyed this romantic, clean Christian fiction. And I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a sweet, quick read!
