He’s not my boyfriend or anything (as much as I daydream about him). And it’s not like he’s into me, anyway. Besides, I have zero time for romance in between running three dance teams, working an extra job to help support my family, and dealing with my snooty coworker.

Did I mention I’m also taking over snooty-coworker’s dance teams?

But don’t worry about me. I can handle everything!Right?

Book Review:

4.5 Stars
This is the second book in the Canyon Cove Love Stories series, and it is even better than the first! I feel like the characters had a little bit more depth in them, and I loved watching Scott and Ivy find each other. They are too cute!
Ivy has everything under control. Sure she’s struggling a bit with trying to help her parents after her dad’s accident which left him paralyzed from the waist down. And yes she’s currently helping her snooty co-worker’s dance teams for free while also trying to manage her own. Plus dealing with her secret guy-friend who’s not her boyfriend. But she has everything under control right?
I loved Ivy! She is so funny and spontaneous, but I loved seeing the struggle behind her smiles. She desperately wanted to be strong enough for everyone, but she had to learn that she doesn’t need to be. I think that Soleil has picked up on another really relatable struggle, and while I was frustrated with Ivy because she kept picking up more responsibilities, I also understood her.
Scott truly is so adorable! I think it’s sweet how much he loves Ivy and wants to take care of her. I think that while I really liked his character I would have liked to see more of his flaws. He felt a little too perfect, and I wanted to see more clashes as he and Ivy worked out how different they are.
The plot in this one was amazing! I was hooked from the beginning, and I was getting pretty mad on Ivy’s behalf. I liked how the ending wasn’t too unrealistically happily ever after. But don’t worry there was still a happily ever after! And I’m getting more and more excited for Thea and Ethan’s book! I think they’re going to be very cute together!
This is a clean, sweet romcom that I would recommend to anyone who loves romance novels! It can be read separately from Speak Your Truth, but I think it’s better to read them in order.

Book Review:

The next in the Faerie Tale Romance series, The Glass Gate is a lovely romance and sweetly inspiring story! I have so enjoyed Hanna’s other stories and was so excited for this one! Ella is an inspiring fashion designer. Her key to escaping her step-family who essentially use her as a live-in housekeeper, unpaid of course, is an amazing portfolio so she can go to the design school of her dreams.She just needs some inspiration, something completely new, something magical. She just wasn’t expecting actual magic. When her friend Amber whisks her away to a faerie ball, she is enchanted. It is exactly what she needs.When a handsome faerie prince asks her to pretend to be his girlfriend, she jumps at the chance.Crown prince Tieran is just stalling as he tries to find a bride, but all Ella is there for is the fashion. But he is handsome, charming, and gives her a dragon egg…The longer Ella is in Faerie, the more she gets swept up in the magic and the stories they spin together, of love and sacrifice. But putting her heart on the line is too risky, right?

Okay, first of all, we (my sisters and I) have been waiting for this book, since Ella was introduced in the previous books (did anyone else catch her?). A Japanese-Canadian fashion designer? Yes please! As half-Japanese girls ourselves, this was super fun to see! Ella is driven, focused, and practical. I loved her kindness even in the midst of an unknown world like Faerie and how she connected with the different groups in Faerie. The Small Folk were such a fun group, I loved how Ella found her place first among them. Tiernan’s fianna was such a fun group! I would love to read stories for more of them! Each one had some characteristics that made them interesting and fun to read about.

I thought that it was so cool to see more of Faerie.We were able to see some places in the earlier books, but this was a much more full look. I really appreciated how Ella and Tiernan’s relationship grew over time as they got to know one another. The interjections of their friends were really fun and I loved the dragon! I would definitely recommend this sweet YA fantasy romance. It is part of a series, which I recommend you read for full enjoyment, but can be read as a standalone.

Book Review:

Another winner by Traci Hunter Abramson! Not Dead Yet is the sixth book in Traci Hunter Abramson’s Guardian series. I have to admit that I haven’t read the first five yet but it did not take away from the amazing book except that there were some characters who I did not really know, but otherwise it was great!

Cassidy Edgemont was a great character, she really drew me in from the beginning. I loved reading about Cas and reading about her trying to save her family. She had suffered a lot and lost a lot, but she was still trying to do the right thing through it all. It was definitely sweet to read about her interacting with Donovan and learning to trust him though. Cas was so strong and I just loved her character throughout the book

Donovan was also lovely. I loved him from the beginning. It was fun to read from his perspective and see him learning to trust Cas, and then falling in love. He was also a guardian and he wanted to find his own family. Donovan worked hard to protect Cas and help their mission.

Donovan and Cas were cute together and I definitely loved reading about their interactions. However romance was not the only thing that kept this book going. There was suspense and mystery. Oh my goodness, I was on the edge of my seat reading this book. I didn’t know what was going to happen or how Cas was going to protect her family. It was so exciting and I was engaged the whole time

Not Dead Yet was wonderful! I loved everything about it! It was fun to see the other characters, I need to go read their books. I would definitely recommend Not Dead Yet. Not Dead Yet is a clean romantic suspense book.

Book Review:

This was just so cute and fun! I loved everything about it. I have not read any books by Britney M. Mills but I have now just added a bunch of books to my TBR! Matched with her Fake Fiance is the second book in Britney M. Mills’ new series Romance by Love, Austen.

Dani was a breath of fresh air. I loved her honestly and how she worked so hard. She was trying to make a life for herself, but nothing was going according to plan. She never expected to be fake dating someone and then ending up fake engaged to the same guy, but that was where she was. Dani was sweet as she interacted with Miles. I loved how Dani was able to calm Miles and help be himself. But Dani would have to figure out if falling in love was worth the risk of her heart.

Miles was also a wonderful character! I liked him from the beginning. He carried such a heavy burden on his shoulders, but I loved how he could just relax around Dani. It was cute to read about him falling in love and wanting to care for Dani. Miles had to learn what he wanted, will he keep on following his mother’s lead or will he find his own path.

I loved the chemistry between Miles and Dani, they really helped each other. The side characters were also a lot of fun! Miles’ friends and Dani’s roommates all need their own books. Dani’s family was also fun, I liked reading about their interaction. All in all this was a pretty great book!

The characters were just a lot of fun to read about and the story was so easy to read. I have been trudging through my ARCs but this one was a breeze to read. I liked the characters and I wanted to see how this book would end. I actually ended up reading it in one day, it was just that good! I would totally recommend Matched with her Fake Fiance. I am also really excited for the next book, I have no idea who it will be about but I cannot wait!

They’re only looking out for number one, and that ain’t you, honey. Give them a map with destination Not on Your Life, Mister highlighted, underlined, and circled for good measure.

That being said, what am I supposed to do with Asher North, lead singer of the band True North and my new boss? My glares don’t intimidate him, and my sarcasm only seems to draw him closer instead of pushing him away. The longer we’re on tour together, the less my rules make sense. And the more he looks at me the way he does, as if he can see right through the wall I’ve so diligently constructed, the more I want to throw those rules right out the window.

Book Review:

The end of the Sewing in SoCal series! This was such a fun series. I loved seeing Betsy’s happily ever after. It was so cute to watch her find her match, and I loved seeing the reasons behind some of her hostility. And we got to see all the rest of the gang again too!

Betsy is not a fan of musicians. And she is determined to never become one or date one, but when Asher North, a Christian artist, works with her, he starts proving her wrong on every turn. He’s kind, humble, and honestly trying to follow God. But will she be able to put aside her prejudice and actually trust him?

Betsy was super sarcastic and kinda harsh in all the books, but she had such a big heart. She genuinely loves her friends and her families, and I love how Asher saw that side of her right away. It was sweet to see how he liked all of her though, her snarky comments and her big heart. And the big reveal of why Betsy doesn’t like musicians was quite satisfying. It felt really fresh and different in a way that fit her personality.

Asher was a sweetheart! He was such a good guy, and he really was trying to love God and love people. While I thought it was sweet how he tried to balance showing interest in Betsy and pursuing her without pushing himself on her , I think he was a bit too pushy sometimes.

The plot itself was fun! It is a bit rushed, but I felt like it fit the rom com vibe. But I would have loved to have more conversations with the two of them. This is a clean romance with some innuendo. I would recommend it to anyone who likes rom coms!

Book Review:

I had read To Con a Gentleman and I knew that I had to read To Catch a Suitor to see what would happen to Oliver and Elizabeth. I was so happy with the outcome! To Catch a Suitor is the second book in Sarah Adams, Dalton Family series. This book is set closely after To Con a Gentleman, it was very much like the first book and yet it had its own charms.

I liked Elizabeth a lot, I felt really bad for her as she tried to figure out what it meant to live in society. She tried so hard to get over Oliver and to prove to him and herself that she was a lady. But she couldn’t change herself, she was perfect just the way she was. I loved how strong Elizabeth was, but that she also had doubts.

I wanted to hit Oliver over the head multiple times, but I also really liked him. He tried so hard, he just wanted what was best for Elizabeth. He had a bad relationship with his father, so he feared for the man he would become. But he was a kind man and he really cared for people, especially the Dalton family. He had to learn to get over his past and embrace his future.

I really felt like Oliver and Elizabeth competed with each other. He allowed her to be herself. And she helped him trust others. They were cute together and I really liked how they were friends first. I also really liked having Rose and Carver. They made this book so much better and it was so cool to see them together.

This was another laugh-out-loud book and I really enjoyed it. I would definitely recommend this book, I can’t wait to see what else Sarah writes!

The Fake Date

Book Review:

I always love love love Jess Mastorakos books and this was just another amazing book! The Fake Date is about Lyndi and it is the fourth book in Jess Mastorakos’ Brides of Beaufort series.

I loved learning more about Lyndi. She had been in previous books but you did not know that much about her. I loved Lyndi’s little quirks and the things that made her different. She was introverted, a bookworm, and overthink everything. She was just such a relatable character. It was fun to read about Lyndi as she figured out how to be herself and how to let others in. She was a wonderful character. Lyndi would have to figure out if Beau was worth the uncertainty of life, he was a Marine and there was no guarantee of where he would end up.

Beau was also a sweetheart. I was so excited to see that he was going to end up with Lyndi. Beau was a fake date for hire but he was also kind. He did enjoy his side job but he never let anyone in. He had lost people at a young age and he was guarded. However when he agrees to fake date Lyndi, he finds himself opening up. She had a way of breaking down his walls. Beau will have to decide if Lyndi is worth it and if he is willing to risk love.

Beau and Lyndi were a sweet couple. I really liked how they were able to connect with each other and how they truly saw the other person. Beau and Lyndi were both people who put up walls but around each other they could be themselves. The romance was so sweet and cute. They did have some bumps to go over especially since they were fake dating. However I never felt like the book was awkward or moving too fast or slow.

The side characters were fun and I love seeing cameos. Mastorakos does cameos so well! The relationship between the main group of friends is always a lot of fun because they get each other. I am super excited for the next book! Chase has been a side character in so many books and it is cool that he finally gets his own book!

The Fake Date was amazing as Mastorakos’ books always are! I would definitely recommend this book! I am also counting down the days until the next book, The Contract.The Fake Date is a clean contemporary Marine romance.

Book Review:

This was just a sweet book! I enjoy reading Mandi Blake’s books because they always shine Christ throughout the book and they have happily ever afters. Almost Everything was another wonderful book! I was excited to see how this book would turn out and it was really good!

Everly was such a sweet character, she was really thoughtful and kind. I liked Everly from the beginning and I felt so bad for her as she tried to pick up the pieces of her life. She had everything until it all crashed and burned. I loved how strong Everly was and how she tried to lean on God even when her life felt crazy. However Everly also had to learn how to stand up for herself and how to rest in God’s plan.

Blake was a fun character. He had loved Everly for a long time but he stayed away because she was engaged. However now she was single but she was also reeling from her break up. I liked how honorable Blake was and how he respected Everly. He didn’t try to push his feelings on her. It was cute to read about him interacting with Everly and seeing how much he liked her. He really cared for and he wanted her to be happy. Blake would have to learn how to listen to Everly and not just try to fix things for her.

Blake and Everly were fun to read about together. They had an easy chemistry especially because they had a lot of history together. Blake was Everly’s brother’s best friend and he was also her friend. I liked the easy interactions. It was interesting to read about them falling in love and working through their struggles. They had a lot of hurdles to jump over.

I really liked the side characters and I spotted at least two different books in the making! I liked Everly’s brother, Ridge, and I am super excited for him to get his own book. It looks like there is going to be quite a story.

Almost Everything was a lovely read and I would totally recommend it! The characters are sweet and I love how faith is woven so seamlessly into the story. Almost Everything is a clean Christian contemporary romance.

Edward and Amelia

Book Review:

This book was just too cute! I loved everything about it. Edward and Amelia is Karen Thornell’s second regency book, and it was even better than her first! Edward and Amelia is such a fun book. Marriages of convenience are one of my favorite troupes and this was just amazing!

Okay so first I loved the characters; they felt so real and relatable. I was able to connect with them right from the start. They were fascinating to read about, and I loved seeing behind their walls. The plot was absolutely fantastic and I loved reading about Edward and Amelia connecting. There were just a lot of amazing moments, and the side characters were also lovely.

Amelia was super sweet but she was also fiery and full of life. I felt for her as she had to endure her family. It was fun to read about her interacting with Edward, there were times when she was able to be herself. I loved Amelia from the beginning and I really enjoyed her growth throughout the book. She learned to be herself and to trust Edward. But Amelia will have to decide if she is willing to risk her heart for love.

Ah, Edward, poor Edward. He had a lot going and honestly he was a mess at times but I adored him. Edward had been putting up a front for society for so long and now he was trying to figure out who he truly was. Edward didn’t believe in marriage and yet he found himself married to Amelia. There were times when he started to believe it could work, but Edward had to learn to fight for Amelia and figure out how to love her.

All in all, this book was simply amazing! I would totally recommend it! I loved everything about it, the characters were engaging and the story was interesting. I read it in one day. Edward and Amelia is a clean regency romance.

I have finished 3 of the Lancaster Family books in 2 days! They’re just that good, and my favorite one so far was probably Romancing Daphne. Daphne is so relatable, and she and James are adorable together. I loved their relationship together! It was so fun to see everyone else again too. The parts with Linus in it just made me want to read his book more 🙂

Daphne Lancaster is terrified to be making her way into Society. She already knows she is both plain and completely incapable of making a conversation. She is certain it will be a complete disaster, and she will spend the rest of her life alone. So she is overjoyed when James Tilburn shows interest in her and begins to court her. His kind manner captured her heart when she was a girl, and it seems like her happily ever after is within her reach. But her courtship is not what it seems, and suddenly, Daphne’s fragile heart looks like it is in danger of being broken again. James and Daphne will have to decide whether they will risk everything for true love.

Let’s start off with Daphne because she’s awesome! Daphne is convinced that she does not measure up or is enough for anyone. When she was a child, she was constantly dismissed by her father, and those scars stayed with her. I felt for her soo much. I think almost everyone can relate to her feelings at some point in their lives, and Ms. Eden masterfully wrote her in a believable way. She had to choose whether she was willing to give her heart to James even if it meant more pain.

James was such an honorable character. He was determined to protect his family even if it meant pain for himself. I loved watching him fight for Daphne. He was soo nice to her, and it was sweet to watch him fall in love with her. This book was honestly amazing! The characters were so compelling, and the story was interesting without being too intense. I’m not a huge Regency fan, but I loved it! Sarah M. Eden is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors🥰🥰
