Noella
It’s my first Christmas alone. No hubby-boo. No fam. No one eating the cookies I bake. More for me, right? Well, it’s kind of lonely without my beloved boxer-boo. And I miss my parents something fierce. Also, cookies taste better when shared. When I enter a small-town pizza shop, I have a case of déjà boo.

Paulo
I had it all—married to a beautiful woman, plans to start a family, and success as a boxing coach after I retired from the ring. When work took up too much of my time, it was splitz-ville. After a sudden tragedy, my brother drags me to nowhere-ville. Then I inherit two kids. Yup. I had the same reaction.

Noella
It was bad enough that my ex was more devoted to work than to me, but it turns out he has two secret (and adorable) children. What’s worse is he wants me to be their nanny. Ha! I think he took one too many blows to the head.

Paulo
I don’t know who thought I’d be qualified to be a dad. But here I am and I need my ex’s help. Maybe I need her too. I don’t think I’m the only one who hopes Santa Claus is going to grant these kids their Christmas wish…for us to be a family.

Book Review:

This was such a cute read !  I loved seeing the dark horse of the family, Paulo, and his real reason for being MIA for so long.

Paulo was a sweetheart. I definitely felt for him as he tried to navigate all the curveballs life had thrown at him. It was sweet to watch him with the kids and figure out exactly what he wanted with Noelle. He had to figure out what he really wanted in life and what he was willing to sacrifice to get that,

Noelle was definitely relatable! I loved all of her different quirks like trying on wedding dresses and being terrified of spiders. She was a romantic and an idealist, and I loved watching her balance Paulo’s cynical side. I felt like their relationship progressed a little bit fast for me, but it did make sense for their personalities.

I loved the moral of this story though that marriage is hard work. Even though Paulo and Noelle fell in love very quickly, they had to learn how to work through the difficulties of actually being married. They had to choose to love each other, and they had to choose to stay.

This was a sweet, fun Christmas read about second chances and trying again! There were some moments where I had a hard time staying engaged in the story, but I think it made for a fun, low stress read. I would definitely recommend this to any romcom, Christmas lovers! It’s part of a series about the Costa brothers, but it can be read stand alone too 🙂

Gio and Joy and the Three French Hens

About the Book:

Gio & Joy and the Three French Hens: Small town, feel good, romantic comedy (The Costa Brothers Cozy Christmas Comfort Romance Series Book 4) by [Ellie Hall]

Title: Gio and Joy and the Three French Hens
Series: The Costa Brothers Cozy Christmas Comfort Romance #4
Author: Ellie Hall
Release Date: October 15th, 2022
Genre: Romantic Comedy

It’s just a Christmas crush. Like a gingerbread house, it can’t last forever. Right?

Joy
I got a big fat lump of coal in my stocking, and it’s not even Christmas yet. In the span of three days:
• I’m laid off from a premier architectural firm
• The guy I thought was my forever dumped me. Then again, he couldn’t eat cheese, so maybe it wasn’t meant to be. But it was better than being alone
• Oh, and I lost my apartment to a parrot (you read that right)

Gio
How I went from an in-demand globe-trotting photographer to peddling pizza at my family’s new shop may have been because:
• Women in most major European cities have officially banned me
• I have more speeding tickets in Monaco than I can count. Unfortunately, I’m only fluent in English and Italian
• Maintaining my reputation is exhausting. Though, most would argue my life is one big weekend

Joy
Not only am I down on my luck but got demoted to pizza girl. And what’s worse is I have to work with my best friend’s brother, who I’ve liked since I still had braces. But he’s a flirt, so I know to keep my expectations at rock bottom. (By the way, hello from down here!)

On the upside, the view of my pizza-flinging co-worker isn’t half bad.

Gio
The new cashier is a refreshing joy to be around. When we’re tasked with building a gingerbread house for a charity fundraiser, I find myself yearning to put down roots (and maybe even a foundation). The only problem is these French women won’t leave me alone.

But the only person I don’t want to ignore me hardly looks my way.

Book Review:

This was such a cute book! Honestly, sometimes the player romances are a little hard for me, but this was adorable. Gio was a sweetheart, and I love seeing a new side of him.

Joy’s life is not going well. She gets dumped by her boyfriend, fired from her job, and finds out that she’s allergic to gluten. But at least she gets to move to her best friend’s hometown, and see her childhood crush again, her best friend’s brother. Gio’s a total flirt though, and he doesn’t actually mean what he says right?

I loved Joy! Her inner voice made me laugh out loud, and I love her journey in finding out who she was. It was cool to see her figure out her own worth and learn to trust Gio.

Gio was a bit of an idiot, but he was a sweet idiot. I loved watching him learn to be more than a player. I think he had a long way to go, but it was sweet to see him show all of himself to Joy. He had never really had that connection with someone before.

As always the Costa family is amazing! Frankie is in this book a lot more, and I just love her. She’s so funny, and there are some hilarious moments tucked into this quick read.

I would totally recommend this book to any lovers of Christmas romances! It is a clean, sweet read about falling for your best friend’s brother 🙂

Return to Freedom, Colorado and enjoy the faith, friendships, and forever-afters of the Heroes of Freedom Ridge in this Christian Christmas romance.

Book Review:

Oh, this was a fun and sweet book. I have really been enjoying Ericson’s books and I have been binge reading the Heroes of Freedom Ridge series so I was so excited to read this one. Blind Date with the Hero is written by Tara Grace Ericson and it is the 18th book in the Heroes of Freedom Ridge series. The stories have been so fun and I have loved getting to see different characters.

Alexis, poor Alexis, she had her demons to work through. It was fun to read more about her. Alexis was a bit of a more grumpy character, but I loved her from the beginning. She wasn’t afraid to speak her mind and she worked hard to prove herself. But Alexis had to learn to let others in and see that God wanted what was best for her. Alexis had to learn to overcome her demons and fight for a chance at happiness.

Jared was a great character. He was kind and thoughtful. I loved getting to know him more. Jared really cared for Alexis and he was trying to show her that he felt for her. Jared was fighting for a chance to have a relationship with Alexis and it was sweet to read of him reaching out to her and loving her. Jared had to learn to wait patiently for Alexis and to hope for the best. I liked how Jared learned to trust in God’s plan as he tried to woo Alexis.

Jared and Alexis were fun together. I liked how they were friends first and how they had an easy chemistry. It was sweet to read about them realizing their feelings for each other. The plot of the book was enjoyable. I thought that the blind dates would be awkward but they were actually perfect for the story. The Secret Santa part of the story was also so cute.

I loved this book! It was the perfect Christmas read. Ericson is wonderful at weaving faith into her books and this one was no different. You need to have this on your TBR. Blind Date with the Hero is a clean friends to lovers, grumpy/sunshine contemporary Christian romance.

Luca and Ivy and the Four Calling Birds

About the Book:

Luca & Ivy and the Four Calling Birds: Small town, feel good, romantic comedy (The Costa Brothers Cozy Christmas Comfort Romance Series Book 3) by [Ellie Hall]

Title: Lucy and Ivy and the Four Calling Birds
Series: The Costa Brothers Cozy Christmas Comfort Romance #3
Author: Ellie Hall
Release Date: September 15th, 2022
Genre: Romantic Comedy

Would you rather be stranded in a snowstorm with Miss All-things Christmas or the Grinch?

Ivy
If you ever find yourself on the run, do not, I repeat, do not drive off the road and into an icy pond. Should you have such an accident, do not wander into the woods to a chalet with a blazing fire. But if you lose feeling in your toes and go inside to warm up, do not, I repeat, do not, doze off.

Luca
I came up to the mountains to escape: myself, responsibility, and most of all women. So when I return home to find one snoozing in front of my fire, I can’t be blamed for being ticked off. Did I threaten her? Absolutely not. Did I offer her a warm meal? Probably should’ve. As for a place to stay? No way.

Ivy
With a blizzard raging outside, I’m stuck with a grumpy, gruff, grouchy huntsman who hates Christmas. Who doesn’t love the most wonderful time of the year? A beast, that’s who. Although Luca would be a hot beast if he’d tame his beard.

But that’s the least of my problems. Actually, it’s one I’m determined to solve (the Christmas thing and the wild facial hair) because the actual issue is a problem for tomorrow…if there is a tomorrow, seeing as my “ex” is after me and all. Time to seize the holiday!

Luca
Just because I run a Christmas tree farm, doesn’t mean I have to put one up, trim it, or expect Santa to pop out of the chimney and deliver presents. That’s for people who have holly, jolly cheer. Who still have hope. People like the woman who appeared in my life.

Come to think of it, Ivy is kind of like Mrs. Claus, if old Saint Nick’s missus were a knockout. Haunted by ghosts of the past, I’ll need a Christmas miracle to enjoy the season. Then again, maybe the biggest gift is already sitting in my living room.

Book Review:

Okay, I think this might be my favorite Costa Brothers book yet! I loved Luca and Ivy, and I felt like they were both such real characters. Their drama did not feel forced at all, and their conflict made it a lot of sense.

Ivy was the strong one. She had to be for her sister. I adored her, and her straightforward way of dealing with things. She helped Luca open up, and their banter was adorable. I liked how her personality fit Luca’s in a lot of ways. She made him laugh, and helped him actually express himself while still being a strong partner.

Luca was such a sweetheart! I really liked him because I think his struggles were actually real problems. He had experienced a lot, and his guilt was eating him alive. So even though there were times when he was quite frustrating, the conflict inside of him made sense. And he was a total softy underneath all of his gruff exterior.

Luca and Ivy fit together well. Luca made Ivy feel safe, and he gave her the home she had always wanted. Though they had to fight for their home and their future together. There was a side plot with Ivy’s sister’s ex-boyfriend which was interesting, and the whole story made it so I couldn’t put the book down.

I would definitely recommend this sweet, Christmas story! It is a quick read, so things progress very quickly. But it’s a clean, adorable romcom perfect for people wishing it was Christmas 🙂

Her late husband worked for the same department and died in the line of duty. There’s no way she’ll put her daughter—or herself—through that again.

As they grow closer over hot cocoa and holiday traditions, Jack knows he needs a Christmas miracle to convince Robin to risk her heart. And when her past comes back to haunt her, he’ll do anything to show her he’s worth believing in.

Book Review:

This was just as good as I had hoped! Everything that Mastorakos writes seems to be a hit and this one was just lovely! Christmas with the Boy Next Door is the second book in Jess Mastorakos’ Christmas in Snow Hill series. I have been waiting for this book to be released and it was worth the wait!

Jack was just so much fun! I love his relationship with his sister and how kind and considerate he was. I really loved Jack and getting to know more about him. He was such a wonderful character, I was definitely rooting for him as he tried to make a relationship work with Robin. Jack had to learn to get go of his feelings about Christmas and embrace the hope for a future.

Robin was also lovely! I connected with her from the beginning and I wanted to see her end up with Jack. Robin was such a strong character and I loved how she cared for her daughter, Abby. Robin had to learn to let go of the past and her fears, hoping for the best. She had to trust that loving Jack was worth the risk of losing him.

Jack and Robin had such great chemistry and I loved reading about them together. Their interactions were easy and they had a great connection. Their romance was super sweet and fun to read about. I also love the side characters, Holly, Jack’s sister, and Noelle, Jack’s niece, were just wonderful additions. I love the family aspects in this book and the siblings’ relationships. It was cute to read about Jack interacting with Abby. I also loved Tommy and I am so excited to see that he is going to get his own book!

The plot was interesting and I was engaged the whole time. I read this book in one day! I could not recommend it more! It had a wonderful mix of romance and a hint of suspense and mystery. Christmas with the Boy Next Door is a clean contemporary romance and I would recommend it to those who have enjoyed Mastorakos other books and just even clean contemporary Christmas romances.

Release Date: December 1st, 2022
Genre: Romantic Comedy

When the woman of my dreams finally becomes available, all bets are off.

I’m walking the straight and narrow (AKA dateless and lonely) just fine. Until my best friend (the woman I’ve been pining over since college) gets her heart broken. How can I say no to those big, gorgeous blue eyes when she asks me to fly to Vermont to attend her sister’s wedding with her? As her fake boyfriend.

Yeah, all bets are off. (Don’t tell my brother).

It’ll be easy… pretend to be my best friend’s boyfriend without holding her, kissing her, or falling even more in love than I already am.

But when we end up having to share a room at her family’s cabin, the line between real and fake becomes very blurry…and very tempting.

Book Review:

Can I just say that this book was amazing! I finished it in one day and I was trying to finish a paper for school 🙂 Cabin Mate is the fourth book in Leah Brunner’s Under a Kansas Sky series and it was just as good as I had hoped!

Brooks was even better than I had hoped! He made his mistakes in the past but he was such a sweetheart. I loved getting to read about Brooks and seeing him grow. He was kind and considerate and he really loved Molly. He had liked Molly for a long time but he ultimately wanted her to be happy so he let her be. It was cute to read about him trying to woo Molly but also trying to be a good friend.

I also loved Molly! She was a great character and it was cool to see Brooks through her eyes. It was sweet to read about her start to fall for Brooks and see what a great guy he was. Molly never expected to fall for Brooks but he managed to wiggle his way into her heart.

Brooks and Molly were such a lovely couple! I loved their chemistry and how they were friends first. This was just such a cute friends to lovers book! The plot was engaging and I wanted to know how they were going to end up together.

I also really enjoyed the family scenes, especially seeing Brooks’ siblings again. I adore sibling relationships and Brunner writes great ones! I am so sad to see this wonderful series end but I think that this was a stunning conclusion! Cabin Mate is a must read!! It is a closed door contemporary friends to lovers romance. I would recommend it to those who enjoy contemporary closed door romances and probably at least 13 years and up.

Step one: receive an invitation to the wedding of my ex-boyfriend to my ex-best friend . . . eight months after he broke up with me.

Part of the Christmas Escape series, Cotswolds Holiday is a clean Christmas romance where an American girl runs off to England and tries not to fall in love. Check out the other books in the series, which can be read in any order:

Book Review:

When Luna receives a wedding invitation from her ex-boyfriend and the request from the bride to be in the wedding party, she sticks to her tried-and-tested response, disappearing. The perfect escape ends up being the cozy English village of Cotswold in the middle of December. But once she arrives, she discovers that snow is more slippery than she expected, her room vastly different from the listing and the pub owner/landlord is more like something from a lumberjack fantasy. As he finds a place in her heart, Luna has a problem.. She can’t fall for an Englishman who lives on the other side of the world, even if he seems perfect. It is harder to run and even though she knows it will have to end, will she be able to say goodbye?

I am so happy for the season of holiday books! While I have only read one of the other books in the series, I really have enjoyed them both! Luna is feeling at the end. She is still reeling from the loss of her boyfriend and her friend. She also is rethinking her life as she spends more time in Cotswold. I felt like Luna’s voice came out clearly in this story. I definitely empathized with her and her struggles. I will say even though I felt for her and enjoyed her story, I had trouble relating to her. I felt a bit disconnected at times. However, I really enjoyed seeing her growth. After getting some space, she was able to process her life. It was sweet to watch her develop relationships in Cotswold, with Ruby, Maggie and all the rest there. I also appreciated the good relationship she had with her family, it was really cute!

The romance was very cute! Luna and Rhys both had things to work through and Luna’s looming departure hanging over them. I liked how much they seemed to enjoy each other’s company. Rhys was very sweet to Luna. He was a bit more settled than she was and really helped her in her journey. It was fun to see the whole village interact. There was a fun small town vibe to it all, complete with small town drama.  Overall, this was such a lovely holiday read. I would recommend it to those who enjoy clean contemporary romances.

He might be a builder.

But he’s tearing down my walls.

If I’m not careful, I’ll be the one left in ruins.

Book Review:

I can’t believe this is Carson’s first book! This was an amazing and adorable romcom that I loved. The characters were endearing and touching, and they felt real, especially Ellie. I cannot wait for the next book in the series!

I loved Ellie. She had so many layers to her, and it was refreshing to have a more reserved female main character. Romcom characters are generally quirky, awkward, and almost pixie-like, and while Ellie was definitely full of her own quirkiness, she also was very stiff and sometimes overly formal. She didn’t trust people, and she could be a bit standoffish without meaning too. I loved watching her learn to open up and trust people. As she went through the process of fostering her niece, she was able to heal some of her old wounds too.

James was such a sweetheart! Oh my gosh, definitely an adorable book boyfriend. He literally dropped everything to help Ellie so much, and I think it was cute that the “normal” romcom roles were kinda of reversed in this story. Ellie made the dramatic apology to James, and James was the super nice, almost perfect human being. I think he felt a bit too perfect at times though, and I would have loved to see his arc about not actually trying to be fulfilled. But he was honestly an amazing guy!

I loved the plot of this too. It felt interesting and funny, and I liked how there wasn’t a ton of drama. The conflict felt realistic because of Ellie’s past trauma without being too dragged out.

I would definitely recommend this sweet romcom! It is a clean read with a couple of innedos. So I would recommend it to any lovers of clean romcoms!

Book Review:

This was a fun and engaging book! I had enjoyed the first book in this series so I was excited to see how the second book would turn out. Hostile Intent is the second book in Tara Grace Ericson’s Black Tower Security series

Joey and Cole were cute together. They did not get along at first but it was sweet to read about them connecting and breaking past each other’s walls. I really liked the progression of their relationship and how they learned to trust each other. They were really sweet together as they learned to let go of the past and let others in. They had been through a lot so they were both a little jaded.

I really liked the characters and their development. They felt real and relatable. I also love how Ericson is able to sprinkle faith and God so easily into her books. The characters go through life but they are also challenged to trust and rely on God more.

The plot was interesting and I was engaged in the story from the beginning. I wanted to know how Joey and Cole were going to save Cole’s company. It was fun to read about Joey going from suspecting Cole to falling in love. The romance didn’t feel rushed and I think that it had the perfect amount of suspense. There was suspense and mystery but it didn’t feel scary.

This was a good book and I would recommend Hostile Intent to those who enjoy Christian romantic suspense. I am super excited for the next book in the series and I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Once Upon a Royal Christmas

About the Book:

Once Upon A Royal Christmas by [Teri Wilson]

Title: Once Upon a Royal Christmas
Author: Teri Wilson
Publisher: Hallmark Publishing
Release Date: November 1st, 2022
Genre: Romance

She pretends to be a princess at children’s parties.
But can she melt a real prince’s frosty heart?
Get swept away by a Christmas story from Hallmark
and bestselling author Teri Wilson—
the queen of royal romance!

“I’m Prince Nikolas of San Glacera. Oh, you’ve never heard of us? Well, you’re not the only one. Our country relies on winter tourism, but we’re attracting fewer and fewer visitors. I admit it’s a problem. I just don’t think the solution is an American who likes to play dress-up.

You see, while I was away on a trip, my younger sister convinced the palace to hold a contest. The winner gets to star in our annual Ice Village festivities and accompany our royal family to holiday events.

And who did they choose? Gracie Clark, who runs a children’s party business and performs as—I kid you not—‘Princess Snowflake.’

Of course, I do respect the fact that she volunteers at children’s hospitals. I suppose to some, she might have a certain charm… But the whole cheap spectacle is beneath our dignity.

I’m not going to shirk my duty to my kingdom. I’ll go to every event with her. At least, once Christmas is over, she’ll be gone…”

Book Review:

This was just too cute! It was honestly the perfect Hallmark romance read! Once Upon a Royal Christmas is the second Teri Wilson book that I have read and I loved it! First off let me say that it is from Hallmark and it is a total Hallmark book. I was looking for a light and fun read and this was just what I wanted.

Gracie was so fun and full of life. She was trying her best to get her business going . She never expected to find herself playing a Christmas princess in San Glacera, spending time with the crown prince. Gracie was a sweet character, I liked how she looked out for others. She worked hard and she was kind. But Gracie was also working through her own fears of failures as she tried to keep her business afloat. I liked reading from Gracie’s perspective, it was also cute to see how she saw Nikolas.

Prince Nikolas was just trying his best. He truly cared for his people and he wanted to be the best prince that he could be. I really liked Nikolas especially as he tried to help his people. He was kind but he did have a bit of a grumpy exterior. Nikolas had to learn that he didn’t need to shoulder the burden of the world. Gracie helped show him how to live and enjoy life.

Nikolas and Gracie were a wonderful couple. They really balanced each other and helped each other be better. I loved reading about their easy interactions. The story was fun and easy to read with little stress. The side characters were a wonderful addition and I also loved the pets in this book too!

Once Upon a Royal Christmas is a must read. It is an easy relaxing read! Once Upon a Royal Christmas is a clean Christmas romance.
