’m the absolute last remaining single woman in the entire town of Bordeaux.
Okay, maybe not the very last.
Just the last one with all her teeth, natural hair color, and the ability to remember where I set my keys.
I decided years ago that I’m going to remain single until my dying day.
I’ll infuse a new, hip meaning into the term “old cat lady.”
I don’t need a man.
I’ve got my bulldog, my cats and some of the best friends in the world.
My cup’s not half-full—It’s overflowing.
My man-free life is going along fine until the day I walk into my new job as a part-time tutor to the daughter of the new doctor in town. The sight of this man is making my skin tingle and my breath hitch, and something very much like butterflies are erupting in my stomach.
Butterflies!
I don’t do butterflies over a man.
My reaction doesn’t mean I need to change my stance on men. After all, Grant’s a broody, stern, cantankerous man. If I were going to start dating, it certainly wouldn’t be someone who obviously hasn’t smiled since he was forced to for school pictures.
But then his daughter walks in the room and his face lights up.
That smile. Who knew swooning was a real thing?
Still, I’m not dating. And that’s final.
Book Review:
I loved this book so much! Okay, I thought I loved Em and Aiden’s story best, and then Duke and Shannon’s came, and now this one! I really cannot choose because they keep getting better 🙂
I loved seeing Jayme finally get her HEA, and it was fun to see a different side of her. She seemed like she was an open book, but she had a lot of layers underneath her. She was working through being the third wheel in her friend group and realizing she may want love. And I loved watching her with Grant. They really balanced each other out, and he helped her calm down and relax.
Grant, Grant, Grant. I have to admit at first I wasn’t sure how I felt about grumpy Grant, and then I read the first chapter, and he completely won my heart! He’s such a sweetheart underneath, and I loved seeing his soft side with Jayme and Fiona. They were so sweet together!
And Fiona was simply amazing! I loved how she bonded with Jayme immediately, and it was sweet to see them become a family almost instantly. Plus, she livened her dad up in a lot of ways. The side characters in this book were simply perfection! Of course, we have our crazy senior ladies like always, but Grant’s dad is amazing and hilarious too. Can I just say that I loved the fact that Grant’s dad was his best friend 🙂 That was just too sweet!
I would totally recommend this book! Get ready for an amazing ending that I loved! I love how Grant had to win Jayme back in a realistic way where he showed that he changed. I feel like it really showed the hard work of relationships and an apology because an apology takes work and relationships take work and sacrifice.
I would recommend this book to any lovers of rom coms! This is a clean closed door romance with some innuendos.
